Sunday Morning
All children from age 2 through 5th grades hear the same Bible story each Sunday morning. Children are encouraged to wonder and talk about the stories, all of which are told reminding them that they are beloved and cherished children of God. Following story time children engage the stories in age appropriate activities.

Nursery (Birth to 3 Years) - 9:15 & 10:45 a.m.
Nursery is available for ages three and under during the 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. worship services. Engaging play, welcoming laps and stories waiting to be read are all part of the safe and loving environment in our nursery. We ask that you give us your cell phone number should we need to contact you during worship services or Sunday School. (Please keep your phone on during worship)

2 – 3 Years and Pre-K - 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Our youngest children engage in hands on activities, musical experiences and times of free play while learning to share, give thanks and celebrate Jesus' love for them.

Elementary - 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Following our unique storytelling time, elementary children move into centers to respond to the story. Centers vary from month to month but include science, art, cooking, drama, paper art and games. Occasionally, all children work together on a group project. Emphasis every week is on learning our faith stories and finding ways to connect the stories to our lives in school, at home and with friends.

Worship Connections
All children from preschool through 5th grade move into worship to share with the community of faith during baptisms and the celebration of Holy Communion. In addition, at 10:45 a.m. after children are checked in to their Sunday School class, leaders will take them to worship to participate in the gathering music before returning to their classrooms to continue their lessons.

 

Elementary Small Groups
Small groups provide a safe place for our children to learn to cherish talking, growing and serving with Christian peers. Friendships deepen and continue as the children grow into the youth and finally the adult ministries offered at Living Word.

Serve Groups focus on hands-on ways for older children to reach outside of our church and into a community where needs are profound. Working as groups our children learn that they can make a difference no matter their age.

3rd, 4th & 5th Grade SERVE Group: Meets 2nd Sunday of the month from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

We are intentional about providing a safe, welcoming environment for all God's children with our Good Shepherd policy. This includes a background check and training for all of our children's ministry volunteers. Check-in/check-out procedures are in place at all age levels.

One of our main priorities is providing a safe, welcoming environment for all God’s children with our Good Shepherd policy. Our Good Shepherd Policy includes a background check and training for all of our children’s ministry volunteers.
