August 16 - “Why Don’t People Stick With Jesus?”
Luke 14:25-34
Contrary to what you hear in so many pulpits today---Jesus was not always warm and fuzzy; there were times when Jesus did not give a “feel good, upbeat, positive” lesson; in fact, there were times when Jesus was downright hard core, and makes it very clear that in order to follow Him we must forget everything else, and put Him first---He will not share our allegiance with anyone or anything else.  What that means is, Jesus must come before our parents, spouses and children. And Jesus does not stop there, He asks even more, for He tells us that after we lay down everything else at His feet---we must then pick up our own cross and follow Him wherever He may go.

August 23 - "Why Don’t Some People Stick to a Church?"
Galatians 5:13-15
Frankly, sometimes it is the church’s fault; for too often church’s do not act like a Christ-centered community.  Other times it is the individual’s fault, because they are approaching the church like it is a restaurant, and they expect to get their “order” served just right, in a timely manner, or they will take their business elsewhere. In both instances, the root of the problem is selfishness.

August 30 -“Why Don’t Some People Stick in Relationships?"
Luke 6:27-36
The foundation of all relationships is key to the health of the relationship. If they are founded on what someone else can do for us, they are headed for heartbreak. In order for relationships to work, they must be approached from a selfless, and not a selfish mindset. We all need friends who CONTRIBUTE, not just CONSUME.
